Federer Fantastic in Hamburg

May 15, 2005 - World No. 1 Roger Federer overcame French qualifier Richard Gasquet 6-3, 7-5, 7-6(4) to claim his third ATP Masters Hamburg title in four years and extend his record ATP title streak to 19 consecutive finals.

With the win, Federer avenged his loss to the 18-year-old Gasquet in the Monte-Carlo quarterfinals. Federer now moves 110 points ahead of second-placed Rafael Nadal in the Indesit ATP 2005 rankings.

The Hamburg victory gives Federer his third ATP Masters Series title of the year – and his sixth title from his past 10 ATP Masters Series appearances. This week the ATP tour moves to Dusselforf, Germany for the ARAG ATP World Team Championship and to St. Poelten Austria for the Internationaler BTM-Power Grand Prix.

The best of the best in men's tennis are coming to Uniprix Stadium in Montreal as part of the Rogers Cup, presented by National Bank from August 6–14th.
