Rain Halts Play on Friday Night

August 11, 2005 - After four rain delays, organizers were forced to move the last two Masters Series Rogers Cup quarter-final matches to Saturday at the Uniprix Stadium in Montreal.

Andre Agassi, the fourth seed, was leading 6-3 and 15-15 against Argentina's Gaston Gaudio, seeded sixth when the evening session of the Masters Series event was cancelled at 10:40pm. The other quarter-final featuring Greg Rusedski against Dominik Hrbaty had not yet commenced.

The Rusedski-Hrbaty match will take place at noon on Centre Court and will be followed by the remainder of the Agassi-Gaudio battle. Canadian Daniel Nestor's doubles match will complete the matinee session.

In the evening, Rafael Nadal, the tournament's top seed, will take on Paul-Henri Mathieu of France, followed by the winners of the two other quarter-finals.

One of the most accessible tournaments

The Rogers Cup presented by National Bank is more accessible than ever thanks to the Uniprix Zone, Neighbourhood Day, and Tide & Downy Family Day.

Excellent tickets are still available for all sessions on Centre Court and for the National Bank Court. Tickets start at just $10, with the final weekend starting at just $40. For more information on this tournament or to buy tickets, call (514) 273-1515 (toll free 1-866-338-2685).
