Sizzling Spaniard Wins Again

Spanish teenager Rafael Nadal won his second title in a row Sunday defeating former World No. 1 Juan Carlos Ferrero 6-1, 7-6, 6-3 in the final of the Open SEAT Godo 2005 in Barcelona. Last week in Monte Carlo the 18-year-old Nadal won his first ATP Masters Series shield. The Barcelona victory marks Nadal’s third clay court title this season and his fifth career title. He also holds a remarkable 25-2 record on clay this season.

In Houston, top-seeded Andy Roddick won the US Clay Court Championships for the third time with an easy 6-2, 6-2 win over sixth seed Sebastien Grosjean. The Houston victory gives Roddick his 4th career clay court title. The hard-hitting American now holds a 17-8 record in ATP finals.

Meanwhile, in doubles action, one day after their 350th match win, Canadian Daniel Nestor and his partner Mark Knowles claimed their 30th title together, downing Martin Garcia and Luis Horna 6-3, 6-4.

This week the ATP tour moves to Portugal for the Estoril Open and to Munich for the BMW Open by Credit Suisse
