Sunday is State Farm Family Day!

One of the most anticipated days during the week-long Rogers Cup tournament is State Farm Family Day, which will take place on Sunday at Rexall Centre.

In past years families have flocked to the grounds to experience plenty of fun activities for the whole family. This year is no different as there are many exciting events planned to go along with the final qualifying matches taking place on the court.

Admission for this special day is free, giving families the chance to experience a full day of action both on and off the courts. Around the grounds, a variety of activities will be offered for the kids throughout the day, including a cotton candy machine, a roaming magician, face painting, a caricaturist and a clown.

The day begins with a scavenger hunt which allows young fans the opportunity to search the grounds for answers to a number of different clues. The fun continues on the main stage beginning at 11:30 a.m., where fans can watch a couple of magic shows, get autographs from the Miele Canadian Davis Cup team, participate in an air guitar contest and take part in a question and answer session with an ATP Tour player. Prizes will be given out to a few lucky scavenger hunters and the winners of the air guitar contest.

To cap off the festivities, the Rogers Cup Ball Hockey Challenge is back by popular demand. The game puts hockey bragging rights on the line as ATP Tour players will take on men from the NHLPA. Action gets underway at 2:00 p.m. on the Grand Stand court, which will be transformed to look like a ball hockey rink complete with a properly marked playing surface and nets. As a special addition to the event, sticks and jerseys used by the players will be donated to the Tennis Matters auction, with all proceeds from the auction going to the Jane/Finch Tennis League.

Back on the courts fans will find excellent tennis action as the final qualifying round of the Rogers Cup takes place. Fourteen men will be vying for only seven spots in the main draw of the tournament.
